Facebook

Utilizing this blog has been more difficult than I expected. Facebook is much easier. I do not have easy access to the internet and therefore will use Facebook to update photos and tell interesting stories of my experiences.

Have a super day!

I am sitting at Seatac Int'l Airport waiting for my flight to San Francisco. From that point I immediately board for Dubai, a 15 hour plus flight. Yikes!! Then I stay the night, I am sure it will be in the tallest building in the world!!! Don't you think? They have to fill it up some how.

Then at 2:45 AM Dubai time I fly to Dhaka. Where I land 5:00 PM Pacific Coast Time, which is really 11:00 AM on Thursday Dhaka time. Really great stuff! I do not know if I am flying on a plane or time traveling? Maybe there is a bit in both.

As you may know my passport with visa arrived yesterday. It required mass skills of international diplomacy. (Like the late eighties, early ninety's reference of mass skills? I knew you would.) When I recognized my challenge was going to be too much for simple diplomacy, I was forced to use the Bulgarian Waffle Flop, secret spy mind control technique. The man at the embassy must have known it was coming, since I heard aluminum foil torn off to cover his head shielding him from my prowess.

So I had to use my backup plan, contact the assistant principal in Bangladesh to send a fax to sort the confusion. And thanks to FedEx my passport arrived yesterday!

Have a great day!

Christmas

Merry Christmas!!

I am amazed that within a week I leave for Bangladesh. It will be an exciting adventure. Due to the new bugs I will experience, I am ready for serious GI tract issues with a med prescription and 400 tablets of Imodium AD like product! Thank you Costco!

The only entertainment I am packing are a few books, some CD's and maybe an e-book. If I have the funds to do that. It will make packing lighter. I can only bring 2 fifty pound bags at the check in. That seems like a lot but suddenly it is very light when one attempts to pack for six months. CHOICES!

As for clothing, I am packing for weather ranging from mid fifties at night to 90's in the day. Currently, temperature highs are lower 80's. Oh, those cold nights in the 50's! Right!

My next post will be en route to Bangladesh! The flight is for several hours. I hope the flight crew gets plenty of rest during New Year's!!!

Upcoming Move

Three weeks from today, January 2nd, I will be traveling to Bangladesh to teach at an international school. Something I always wanted to do. Of course it was not exactly my plan this particular year. The commitment is for one semester. The school is called Grace International School in Dhaka. The capitol of Bangladesh. It is a Christian school for children of missionaries. I get to teach science as well as my faith!

Returning to the classroom will be a great experience as well as see what a developing country in this part of the world is like! Over the next six months I will update you with photos and stories of life in Dhaka. Science teacher moments that are successful as well as those moments when the experiment ended in a ball of flames!

Thanks!
